Feb 23, 2016 06:40 AM

JAPAN (NTV/NBC) - Cities around Japan are on the alert after a series of bomb threats.

Elementary schools and daycare centers in Nagano let out early after the city office received a bomb threat.
Mito City received an e-mail from a person who claimed to be a lawyer indicating that bombs had been planted at city hall.
The e-mail said the bomb was set to go off at 3:34 p.m. local time, but nothing happened and investigators couldn't locate any explosives.
At least 36 locations nationwide received similar threats.
Some city halls closed for emergency checks.
One of the e-mails said the threat was made to create a kinder world.
