Fire extinguished on cargo ship hit by projectile north of Oman
The British military says a fire on board a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz that started when it was hit by an unknown projectile has been extinguished.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations said no environmental effect from the incident had been detected and that a skeleton crew remained on board.
As we reported earlier, crew members were evacuated from the vessel after it was struck about 11 nautical miles (equivalent to about 20km) north of Oman earlier today.
