"Cancel Netflix" (ネトフリ解約) is trending in Japan.
A lot of users are announcing they're cancelling their subscriptions because they only signed up to watch the World Baseball Classic.
Netflix spent a huge amount of money to keep the WBC off Japanese TV and basically forced baseball fans to sign up for their streaming service if they wanted to actually watch Team Japan's games.
Netflix also told Japanese sports bars that they shouldn't show livestreamed games to customers.
Fans who didn't want to pay for Netflix could listen to free radio broadcasts.
It resulted in millions of new Netflix subscriptions in Japan, but it's not clear how many of the new subscribers will cancel now that Japan has been eliminated from the WBC.
