原文

君がため　春の野にいでて　若菜摘む　わが衣手に　雪は降りつつ
(きみがため　はるののにいでて　わかなつむ　わがころもでに　ゆきはふりつつ)

現代訳

あなたのために春の野に出て若菜を摘んでいましたが､春だというのにちらちらと雪が降ってきて、私の着物の袖にも雪が降りかかっています｡　(それでも、あなたのことを思いながら、こうして若菜を摘んでいるのです)
